A hole-in-the-wall classic. Must try. Must dine in. One of the most underrated restaurants in town. Environment: a definite hole-in-the-wall feel for what is a pretty spacious restaurant. There are several tables and you can sit anywhere you'd like to get served. The staff is very friendly and can make accommodations to any request that you have. The ambiance is what you'd expect for an authentic Thai restaurant. The kitchen is sort of connected to the dining area, giving a home-y essence the experience. Food: firing on all cylinders. We tried the Pad Kee Mao with fresh wide noodles. The noodles had the perfect bite to them and each noodle was separated and appropriately coated in their sauce (unlike other places where the noodles clump). The sauce was a tad oily, but had an incredibly balanced sour/sweet/spicy profile that was well developed to create the umami of an incredible authentic Thai dish. The flash fried Thai basil created wonderful aromatics, adding another dimension making it even more enjoyable. The veggies remained crisp, and the chicken was cooked well (not over cooked like other places). Portion is on the smaller side, but you still feel very full afterwards. It may feel like it takes a while to get your food, but be assured that they're letting the flavors develop as they should. Rating: 4.5/5, truthfully unfortunate that we hadn't tried this restaurant earlier. Maybe a tad too oily but we'd consider it in the margin of error, especially for a hole-in-the-wall establishment. You must dine in, as the take out experience won't live up to this review (we tried it once before and had over cooked noodles and condensation diluted the flavors). The underwhelming take out experience bumps the review down from the perfect 5, as some restaurants have been able to find ways to preserve their flavors in take out containers. Highly recommend their noodle dishes. We will be back to try their curries and fried rice. Note: they charge a credit card fee, so bring cash if you'd like to avoid this fee.

This may be the best hidden gem in CWE. I haven't had authentic Thai food this good since I've left NYC. We decided to eat in and enjoyed some great food. We had the Chieng Mai noodle soup, Pad Kee Mao & Pad Kra Pao w/chicken and a fried egg. Each dish was as flavorful as the previous. I couldn't believe how good this food was. Having each dish topped with fresh and fried Thai basil, just put everything over the top. We ended with the banana sticky rice which was perfectly sweet and a great way to end the meal. Service could have been more pleasant but it did the trick. Would I come back again? Absolutely, in a heartbeat.

Truly a hidden gem on Forest Park that I am so fortunate to live next to. Their pad krapow is the highlight but all their soup noodles (especially the boat noodle) are really good. On par with the Thai spots I frequented in Manhattan, if not better. The restaurant itself can get a bit smokey so I prefer take away.

Welcome to Sunisa Thai Bowl, a hidden culinary gem nestled in the heart of St. Louis at 4495 Forest Park Ave. This unclaimed Thai restaurant has quickly made a name for itself, offering an authentic dining experience that can be savored in-house or enjoyed via takeout and delivery options. Boasting a playful atmosphere, Sunisa Thai Bowl embodies the spirit of traditional Thai dining, combining friendly service with a comforting ambiance that makes you feel right at home.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm, welcoming space that mirrors the essence of a true Thai eatery. While it has the classic "hole-in-the-wall" feel, the restaurant is spacious and clean, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The inviting staff is your guide to a culinary journey through Thailand, ready to accommodate any request you might have.

One of the standout features of Sunisa Thai Bowl is its diverse menu, presented with an array of delectable dishes that cater to all cravings. The stir-fried noodles are truly remarkable, showcasing various preparations like:

  • Pad Kee Mao: A spicy stir-fry with your choice of flat noodles that burst with flavor, enhanced by fresh basil, crisp vegetables, and a well-balanced sauce.
  • Pad CEu: Delight in flat rice noodles, broccoli, and carrots, all beautifully crafted with sweet soy sauce.
  • Pad Woon Sen: Featuring glass noodles and a colorful mix of vegetables, this dish is vibrant and delicious.

Fried rice lovers will also find an excellent selection, including:

  • Pineapple Fried Rice: A sweet and savory blend of pineapple, cashews, and curry powder that sings with tropical flavors.
  • Spicy Basil Fried Rice: A fragrant, zesty feast for those who enjoy heat and depth in their meals.

Each dish is prepared with care, and diners rave about the balance of flavors that Sunisa Thai Bowl delivers. A satisfied customer noted, "The noodles had the perfect bite, each coated in sauce without clumping. The umami was incredible." This sentiment is echoed across multiple reviews, with patrons appreciating the freshness and authenticity of the dishes, reminiscent of traditional Thai cuisine found in bustling Thai markets.

However, it's important to note that dining in is strongly recommended to truly capture the essence of the culinary experience.
